PHILADELPHIA, March 22 - William Moseley Swain, descendant of the founders of The Public Ledger and The Philadelphia Record, died today at Savannah, Ga. He was 67. Formerly a resident of this city, he had lived since 1928 at Belfair plantation, Bluffton, S.C. Mr. Swain's grandfather, William M. Swain, was one of three partners, jorneyman printers from New York, who established The Public Ledger in 1836. His father, William J. Swain, started The Philadelphia Record. He was born in this city and was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1896. He leaves a widow, the former Mrs. John P. Street of Rochester, N.Y., who was Eugenie Rose of this city before her first marriage; a son, W. Moseley Swain Jr. of Wilmington Island, Savannah, and two daughters, Mrs. Wirt R. Robinson of Wayne and Mrs. Thomas A. Gay of Malvern. His first wife, the former Jean Coltart Scott, died in 1929.
