Julie A. Peterson,58, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011, at her home in Almira.

She was a member of the LDS Church in Grand Coulee, Almira Fire & Rescue, and the Nanna's Quilting Club. She enjoyed scrapbooking, quilting, and cooking. She loved taking care of the elderly and enjoyed helping people. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

She is survived by her husband Gary, at the home, seven children: Mike Peterson of Wilbur, Jeromy Peterson of Paulsbo, Wash., Tara Thorne of Lebanon, Tenn., Ben Peterson of Wilbur, Taunya Baleto of Santa Rita, Guam, Ben Durrant of Buckeye, Ariz., and Kyle Peterson of Almira; 13 grandchildren, a brother Brad Parks of Fruit Height, Utah, a sister Susan Drake of Ogden, Utah, her mother, Betty Parks also of Ogden, her father-in-law, Norman Peterson of Almira, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Richard, her niece Sonia, and her mother-in-law Doradyne Peterson.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church, Grand Coulee, with Bishop Parkes Tanner officiating.

Concluding services and interment followed at the Almira Cemetery, Almira.

Memorials may be made to Almira Fire & Rescue. Strate Funeral Home, Wilbur, is caring for the family.
