Mary Elizabeth Williams, 88, passed away at 2 AM today at the home of her son, Carl May, 445 Lily St. in Mansfield. Failing health for a number of years, she became seriously ill a week ago. She was a lifelong resident of Shelby. She was member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Evangelical and Reformed Church. One daughter, Mrs. William Strauss, preceded her in death six years ago. She is survived by two sons, John May of Shelby and Carl May of Mansfield, two daughters, Mrs. William Gremling and Sylvia Ulmer of Crestline, four grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Isabella May of Shelby. The funeral will be held from the Barkdull funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Harlan J. Miller officiating. Interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home anytime after Monday noon. - The Daily Globe, June 28, 1947.
