Edward Davis Dickson is the son of Thomas Dickson and his second wife Rachel Ann Davis who are also buried in this cemetery. He married Jane Wilson in October 1860, and they had eight children of which only four were alive when the 1900 census was conducted. He enlisted as a Lieutenant in Company C 55th North Carolina Infantry Regiment on March 29, 1862. He was promoted to Captain on November 22, 1862. He has fifteen siblings.
