Mrs. Elula Elizabeth Reid, age 74, died at her residence in Spur, Sunday morning, November 7. Funeral services were conducted Monday, November 8, at 2:30 p.m., from the First Methodist Church with Rev. L.L. Hill and Rev. Dock Love officiating.
Interment was in the Red Mud Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reid was born in Mathiston, Miss. , on March 22, 1874, and came to Texas at an early age. She had been a resident of Spur for the past 21 years. She was married to W.B. Reid on December 29, 1893. Mrs. Reid was a member of the Methodist Church, having been converted at an early age.
Survivors are her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Nina Meteer, Mrs. Mary Hinson of Spur and Mrs. Cora James of Lubbock; one brother, Lloyd Arnold of Plainview, Texas, and 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wallace Hinson, Otis Smith, Lloyd Johnson, Oscar McGinty,
Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Powell, Mr. Formby, Mr. Alvin, Bob Smith, L.A. Welborn and O.P. Meador.
