Alice Ida Leisenring, 88, formerly of Woolrich, passed away early Saturday morning, July 2, 2011, at Susque-View in Lock Haven.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., Nov. 3, 1922, a daughter of Raymond and Grace Viola Unger Hoida.

She was a graduate of Shamokin High School and was married to John B. Leisenring on Nov. 9, 1941. John passed away just over two weeks ago, June 16, 2011.

Alice was a supervisor in the sewing department at Woolrich Woolen Mills for over 25 years.

She was a member of the Woolrich Community United Methodist Church and at one time taught Sunday School. She was a former Girl Scout Den mother and a member of the Bell Pioneers.

Her survivors include one daughter, Raymonda Cunningham (Ray) of Campbellsville, Ky.; three sons, John W. Leisenring (Suzanne) of Montoursville, Donald L. Leisenring (Adele) of Lock Haven and Edward Charles Leisenring (Jeanie) of Williamsport; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, William Hoida.

Alice's Life Celebration will be held Friday, July 8, 2011, from the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "a Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with her Pastor Rev. William Anderson officiating. Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Woolrich Cemetery. Her family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions be made to the Woolrich Community Church, 1080 Park Ave., Woolrich, PA 17779.
