Mr. William W. "Bill" Harmon, age 84, of 405 Jimmy Billings Road, Vilas, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Watauga Medical Center.

Mr. Harmon was born October 10, 1926 in Watauga County, a son of the late Garnett and Maude Mast Harmon. He was a retired X-Ray Technician for Watauga Medical Center and the Appalachian State University Infirmary. Mr. Harmon served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife, I. Marie H. Harmon, one son Chris Harmon, both of the home and three sisters, Addie Mae Maynard of Greensboro, Mary Lee Combs and Georgia Ward, both of Sugar Grove. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Ruby Accetta.

Military graveside rites and burial for Mr. William W. "Bill" Harmon will be conducted Saturday morning July 9, 2011, at 11:00 o'clock, at the Presnell Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Beth Turner and Deacon Gregg Erickson.

The family respectfully requests no food.
