My Dad - Mahlon Ray Robertson was born March 24, 1909 and a week later his Mother passed away after childbirth - his parents were George W. Robertson and Vera (Schwarzott) Robertson. His Father remain an active part of his life but he was raised by his Mother's parents - Thomas and Elizabeth Schwarzott.

In the late 1920's he and his Grandparents moved from Jefferson City, Missouri to St. Louis, Missouri to live with an Uncle and his wife. Dad graduated from high school in St. Louis and then attended Washington University in St. Louis while he worked part time in his Father's printing shop.

In 1933 Dad and my Mother were married and Dad found employment with Butler Brothers Wholesalers (Ben Franklin 5 & 10 Stores) where he was an accountant and remained with that company for 41 years until his retirement in 1974.

They lived in St. Louis and Maplewood/Richmond Heights area of St. Louis County until 1958 when they moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1958. The company had transferred to Memphis, Tennessee area in 1958 where Mother and Dad moved and remained until they each had passed away.

Dad was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years at Maplewood Baptist Church in St. Louis County and Eudora Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
