George Jaquiss, son of Hannah Cooper & Benjamin Jaquiss.

George Jaquiss was a Wesleyan minister, his father, Benjamin Jaquiss was a Primitive Methodist minister.

George Jaquiss was born 6 Apr 1806 Longton, Staffordshire, England the third of six children known to have been born to Benjamin Jaquiss and Hannah Cooper.

George Jaquiss married Sarah Hughes, also from the Potteries area of Staffordshire, England and they had a daughter, Hannah and a son Thomas.

George Jaquiss came with his family to the USA to preach the gospel.

It is said Rev. George Jaquiss never failed in his sermons to denounce the slaveholder and the saloon keeper.

Sarah Hughes & George Jaquiss' daughter, Hannah Jaquiss married Joseph Goldie Woodmansee and they had a daughter.

Sarah Hughes & George Jaquiss' son, Thomas Jaquiss married Elizabeth Bell Anderson and they had six children.
