The Death of Mr. John Brewster at his home on the 8th Line, Innisfil, on Tuesday, Dec. 26th, removes a remarkable man who had almost reached the century mark, and had thus lived in the reigns of five British sovereigns and had seen many changes in the life and customs of the people of Canada. Mr. Brewster was born in England 99 years ago and came to this country 70 years ago. He first went to Markham Township, but after a few months there, moved to the Eighth Line, where he has resided ever since. He was twice married, one son, John, being born of the first union. He is now living in the West. By his second wife, Mary Morley, there were three sons and two daughters, William on the Ninth Line, Frank on the homestead, Robert in the West, Mrs. Frank Rich of the Eighth Con., and Mrs. Jobbitt of Stroud, with the latter of whom deceased spent Christmas. Mr Brewster was a Reformer in politics, and a member of the Anglican Church. The funeral took place on Thursday last to St Paul's cemetery, Rev. Dr. Langfeldt conducting the services. A very large number of friends, relatives, and acquaintances attended the funeral.
