Grace Yvone Doss Burris, 89, was born in Houston to Eugene and Ruth Doss. Grace will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church where she played the organ for many years and later became a member of Friendswood Friends Church.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband William M. Burris, Sr. of Houston, brother Richard "Dick" Doss of Houston, and sister Ruth Young of Houston. She is survived by her sister-in-law Naomi Doss of Houston; son William M. Burris, Jr. and wife Gail, daughter Beverly Weatherall and husband Ed, son Mark Burris, grandchildren Elise and husband Bob, Kirk H. Milling and wife Rachel, E. Rollin Weatherall and wife Mary, Dr. Justin M. Weatherall and wife Angela, Christopher Burris; and six great-grandchildren.
A service celebrating Grace's life was on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Earthman - Hunter's Creek. Concluding services, Grace rejoined her husband William M. Burris at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers were Kirk Milling, Rollin Weatherall, Justin Weatherall, Christopher Burris, Parr Doss, Duncan Doss. memorial donations may be made to Houston Hospice.
