Zelma Holliman Ellis was born in Milam County, Texas, and lived all of her life in Rockdale and Forest Grove. On December 31, 1949, she and Ike S. Ellis were married in Rockdale. To this union seven children were born. Zelma worked for MHMR in Brenham and Rockdale, the MARC Center in Rockdale and retired from there to provide home health care. She was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church and was an active member of the Rockdale V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Zelma spent her life caring for others especially her children and grandchildren. Zelma passed away in Temple, Texas at Scott & White Hospital, reaching the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons; a sister, Helen Fulton; and two brothers, Olen and Harold Holliman. The Rockdale Reporter, July 14, 2011
