Eldon "Slim" F. Amey, Miami, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center, Miami, after an illness. He was 51.
Mr. Amey was born April 17, 1949, in Cushing, to Oscar and Nelma (Patterson) Amey. He had lived in Miami for the past 11 years, moving from Stillwater.
A rancher, he attended Liberty Baptist Church, Miami.
He married Joann Thomasson on Nov. 15, 1990, in Miami. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include three stepsons, Jimmy Cox, Terry Cox, and Timmy Cox, all of Miami; his mother, Nelma Johnson, Stillwater; two brothers, Robert Wesley Amey, Sand Springs, and Neal Allen Amey, Stillwater; two sisters, Jean Hite and Joan Blankenship, both of Stillwater; a stepsister, Sheryl Burri, Stillwater; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Amey; his stepmother, Clara Amey; his stepfather, Wayne Johnson; and a brother, Lynn Amey.
The service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami, with the Rev. Vernon Turner Jr. and Robert Amey officiating. The graveside service is 3 p.m. Tuesday, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater.
Pallbearers are Dale Clapp, Berry Waggoner, Nolan McCall, Shawn Summers, Paul Blankenship, and Chris Blankenship.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
