George Francis Brewster
A native of Innisfil, George Francis Brewster, husband of the late Edith Laurence, passed away suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Violet Brown, Crystal Beach, on oct 16, 1947, in his 76th year.
Born on Jan. 14, 1872, in Innisfil, he lived there until 1940, when he moved to Barrie to live with his daughters, later moving to Shelburne, where he stayed for three years. He had been living at Crystal Beach five weeks. He was predeceased by his wife in 1939.
The funeral service, held on Saturday, Oct. 18, from the Lloyd & Steckley Funeral Home to St. Paul's Cemetery, Innisfil, was conducted by Rev. J.W. Newton-Smith. The pallbearers were Ross Brewster, Ralph Gavin, Edgar Matchett, Harold Cooper, George Lawrence and Russel Lawrence.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Brown (Violet), Crystal Beach, and Mrs. E. Fitzgerald Penny, Barrie; and four grandchildren.
Friends and relatives attended the funeral from Gowanda, N.Y., Toronto, Shelburne and Crown Hill.
