Elroy "Mac" is the son of Ernest James McWilliams and Pearl Mary CAVNESS McWilliams.

Elroy married Georgia Mae FIELDLER on October 21, 1944.

"Elroy "Mac" McWilliams, age 88, of Brady, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011. He was born on January 21, 1923 in Grit, Texas to Ernest and Pearl McWilliams. He grew up in the Katemcy area and graduated from Mason High School. He married Georgia Mae Fieldler on October 21, 1944. Mac was employed by Mobil Oil Company from 1950 until he retired in 1983. After retiring he and Mae move back to Brady where he finished the coursework for a Bachelor's degree, which had been delayed 30 years. He graduated from Howard Payne University in 1989. Mac served on the Brady City Counsel from 1988 to 1994. He was a member of the Brady Rotary Club and was recognized as "Paul Harris Fellow" by Rotary International. He was a 32 Degree Mason, a member of the Blue Bonnet Masonic Lodge and the Suez Shrine Temple. Mac was also a member of the Brady Presbyterian Church where he was named Elder Emeritus in 2006.
Graveside services for Elroy "Mac" McWilliams will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 24th, 2011 at the Bethel Cemetery in Katemcy with Dr. Brian Wiggins officiating. The family will receive friends Thrusday evening from 6 to 8 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Friends may sign the memorial guest book online at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com
Mac is survived by his wife Mae McWilliams; daughter Mitzi McWilliams of Azle, TX; two grandsons, Matt Pergrem of Benbrook, TX and James Stainton of Decatur, TX; and three great-grandchildren, Cayson, Camryn and Carter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Brady Presbyterian Church or the charity of choice."
