Edwin R. Bellows came to Gratiot County with his parents December 1860. They settled on section 29, Emerson Twp. By the death of his father in 1863 and his mother in 1870, he was left an orphan at the age of eleven years.
May 8, 1886, Mr. Bellows was married at Maple Rapids to Mary E. (Stocum) De Peel of Emerson Twp.
