Earl C. Stanley, 95, of Newton, died at 3:35 a.m. Friday, July 21, 1995 at Newton Rest Haven.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home with Bro. Havard Dasch officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 8 a.m. Monday.

Stanley was born Oct. 12, 1899 in Jasper County the son of Ben and Sarah (Birch) Stanley. He married Jennie Chesnut Feb. 5, 1919. She preceded him in death Sept. 30, 1994.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Bogota Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Robert Stanley, of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Ferol) Davidson, of Newton; one brother, Hobart Stanley, of Bogota; two sisters, Dollie Root, of California, and Esther Dillman, of New York; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one great-grandson, three brothers and three sisters.
