Death of Louis Abramofsky.

Death has been busy in our community the past week, sparing neither age nor sex in his relentless march. The last to fall a victim to the fell destroyer was L. H. Abramofsky, who joined the silent throng on Monday afternoon last, after two months of intense suffering, before the bells had ceased tolling the requiem of Mr. Richtmyer. Mr. Abramofsky was born in Lundon, Holstein, Germany, October 3, 1869, and would have been 30 years old next October. He came to this country, and to Jackson, with his father and mother, when 10 years of age, and had lived and grown to manhood in this town. He entered his father's store some 16 years ago when quite young, and succeeded to the management of the business upon his father's death 12 years ago. He was the only child, and therefore his death is the harder for his widowed mother to bear. Louis, as he was familiarly called, was good-natured and generous, having a smile and pleasant greeting for all, and was respected by a wide circle of friends. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows, and had passed trough the chairs in the first named order.
His funeral took place last Wednesday afternoon, under the auspices of the orders named, the cortege, headed by the band, escorting the remains from his late home to the M. E. Church, where Rev. Mr. Palmer conducted the funeral service of the church. The choir sang appropriate hymns and Mrs. Jensen sang "Flee as a Bird." Reforming, the procession proceeded to the cemetery, where the burial services of the two orders were conducted, and all that was mortal of their brother was laid to rest. Beautiful floral offerings hid his grave from view and contributed their beauty and fragrance to dispel the gloom in the hearts of sorrowing relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
