David L. Cogbill
David L. Cogbill, age 88, of rural Webb City, Mo. passed away at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at his home following a three year illness.
David was born June 14, 1923 south of Joplin, and had lived in the Joplin-Webb City area all of his life.
David was employed in the Construction industry, and was also a stone and brick mason.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
When David was a young man, he served in the Civilian Conservation Corp.
David married Ruth Seward June 26, 1943 in Joplin, Mo. and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son, David L. Cogbill Jr. and wife Brenda, Wheatland, Mo., two daughters, Gwendolyn Wallace and husband Steve, Webb City, and Marsha Robinson and husband Steve, Olathe, Kansas, one brother, Kenneth Cogbill, Joplin, a sister, Hazel, Joplin, seven grandchildren; Stephen Wallace, Stan Wallace, Ryan Robinson, Natalie Robinson, David B. Cogbill, Scott Cogbill, and Julie Johnson.
He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Judith and Janet Cogbill in infancy.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Wilkins and Rev. Phil Owens officiating.
Friends may call at the Mortuary on Thursday and Friday prior to the Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Children's Physical Therapy Assoc. of Overland Park, Kansas in care of the Mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
