Buelah A. "Boots" Kieffer, 75, of 3525 Windsor Ave., died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2659 Kennedy Road, with the Rev. Larry Yeoman officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Epworth, Iowa. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Boots was born on July 8, 1935, in Dubuque, daughter of William J. and Alma L. (Freeze) Buelow. She married Eldon J. Kieffer Sr. on Aug. 8, 1953, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on April 29, 1987.
Boots was a retail clerk at Sears for 25 years, retiring in 1999. She was an avid bowler who enjoyed camping and crafts.
Surviving are her children, Cheryl Kieffer, of Ankeny, Iowa, Laurie (Jerry) Fishnick, of Dubuque, Desi (Craig) Huston, of Blue Grass, Iowa, and John (Lisa Sharp) Kieffer, of Zwingle, Iowa; her six grandchildren, Cassie Kieffer, Jenny (Jamie) Stacey, Aaron Fishnick, Tara Fishnick, Alex Huston and Bryce Huston; her great-grandbaby, Stacey, who is on the way; her brother, William (Viv) Buelow, of Dubuque; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Michelle Kieffer; a son, Eldon Kieffer Jr.; a grandson, Jeramy Fishnick; and a brother, Herb Buelow.
