Doris Lee Springer was born in Sharp, Milam County, Texas, and raised in Rockdale, where she graduated from Rockdale High School. She lived in Wichita, Kansas, until 1973 when she returned to Rockdale. Between 1978 and 1992 Mrs. Springer lived in Robinson before returning back to Rockdale. She married Calvin Springer on June 25, 1952 in the Apostolic Faith Church in Rockdale. In her early years Mrs. Springer worked as an operator for Central Telephone Co. in Rockdale and over 50 years in the ministry. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Church in Rockdale. Mrs. Springer died in the Santa Fe Hospital in Temple, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Lawrence; brother, Doyle McCoy. Services were held August 30, 2004, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. George Bollinger of Dallas and Rev. Doug Springer of Rockdale officiating. Graveside services were officiated by Rev. Matt Snyder and Rev. Barry Methvin both of Rockdale with burial in the I.O.O.F Cemetery. Rockdale Reporter, September 2, 2004
