Thomas Scott McKinley (1810-1874 was named for his uncle Thomas Scott who served in the first congress of the United States under President George Washington. Thomas was the oldest son of Alexaneder B McKinley (b.1790-) amd Hettie Jones McKinley. He had one younger brother named Alexander McKinley (1817-1896) with whom he is buried in the McKinley plot and one younger sister Clara (1826-1900) who married William Sample Bryson (1822-1892) and who had four children: William C, Elizabeth, Mary H. and Carrie Bryson. Alexander, Thomas' brother married twice and had eight children by his first wife, Margaret Deliz Hayes as noted in her findagrave biography
