Belva Borchardt, 81, of Wausau passed away Monday, July 4, 2011, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Manor.

She was born Oct. 4, 1929, in Sparta to the late William and Jennie (Hoeft) Huber Jr. Belva married Leonard "Bud" Borchardt on May 28, 1955, in Pine City, Minn. They made their home on Sherman Street with Bud working at Wausau Iron Works and Belva at Marathon Rubber. While raising their four children, Belva and Bud enjoyed spending weekends at the family cottage on Papke Lake near Hazelhurst. When the kids were older, Belva was a cook at the former Town House Supper Club and then at Charlie's Bar. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered many hours as a member of the Community SHARE Program.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Borchardt of Wausau, David (Judy) Borchardt of the town of Mosinee, and Roger (Amy) Borchardt of Wausau; one daughter, Karen (Doug) Liss of Wausau; 10 grandchildren, Stephanie and Brad Borchardt, Brianna and Gage Borchardt, Michelle and Megan Liss, Stephanie and Andrew (Dana) Prahl, Dr. Carla (Alan) Cleveland and Pamela (Dwayne) Nyman; three great-grandchildren, Kayleen Prahl, Jackson and Elissa Nyman; and one sister, Frances Hanson of Brodhead.

Belva was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; infant daughter, Patty; four brothers, Harlan, Willis, Allen and Chester Huber; and one sister, Dorothy Huber.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau
