She was the wife of the late William Clifton Mills, whom she married in 1984.
She had been a homemaker for most of her life. She had worked at an antique shop in New Market and at Mary Sue Candies in Baltimore through the years. She enjoyed playing cards, animals, bowling, spending time with friends at the Mount Airy Senior Center and the Young at Heart Group in New Market. She could often be seen driving around Mount Airy in her Chevy Citation.
Surviving are stepchildren Gertrude "Boots" Gale, of Florida, Betty Hommerbocker, of Westminster and James Mills, of Texas; nieces and nephews Evelyn Fountain and Thomas Hobbs, Shirley Wilson, Beatrice Beachy, and Betty Jenkins, friends Arnold and Carolyn Bassett, of Minnesota, and Paul and Mary Stout, of Baltimore; and four generations of additional nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a stepson, Richard Mills; and siblings Lillian Mae Hobbs, Charles Sellman and Rose Sellman Williams.
A memorial service was held at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. She now Rests in Peace at Mountain View Cemetery in Marriottsville.
