Funeral Rites Read At New Market for Mrs. F. Skluzacek

The solemn Requiem High Mass for Mrs. Frank W. Skluzacek, who died on April 26 at 10:00 o'clock. Rev. Father George Skluzacek of North St. Paul, son of the deceased, was celebrant of the Mass. Rev. Father Stanley Skluzacek of Olivia, deacon, Rev. Father Alfred Skluzacek of New Prague, Sub-deacon, and Rev. Father Hall and Rev. Father Leonard A. Hirman, first master and second master of ceremonies, respectively. Present in the sanctuary were His Excellency Bishop Leonard Cowley, and the Rev. Father Carl A. Rens of Hazelwood., Charles C. Jirik of Lonsdale, Clement J. Zweber of Lakeville, Turcotte from Africa and Donald Schnitzius and Alfred Wagner of Minneapolis. The School Sisters of Notre Dame directed the St. Nicholas grade school girl's choir in singing of the requiem.
Interment was in the parish cemetery. Frank and Joseph Kodet, Peter Kubesh, Arthur Frank, Louis Krenik and Frank Malecha, all nephews of the deceased, were pallbearers. The wake had been held at the Skluzacek home.

Mrs. Skluzacek, the former Agnes H. Bouda, was born on March 12, 1881, at Bechyn [MN], a daughter of Lawrence and Rose Bouda. She was married there on June 8, 1909, to Frank W. Skluzacek. The couple lived in the New Prague community for 22 years and at Lakeville since 1931. Mrs. Skluzacek died of a lingering illness at the farm home on Saturday, April 26, after being bedridden for two years.

Three daughters and five sons survive her. They are Sister Menna, O.S.F., (Christine) of Racine, Wis., Mrs. Mary Seurer of Prior Lake, Josephine, Frank and Andrew at Home, James at Jordan, Joseph at Prior Lake and Rev. George J. Skluzacek in North St. Paul. There are 11 grandchildren. She has one living sister, Mrs. Joseph F rank of Olivia.

One son died in infancy, and she was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mrs. Rose Kodet of Bechyn. Who died more than 50 years ago, and another sister, Mrs. Anna Kubesh, she died in November of 1951.

Mrs. Skluzacek was a member of the Christian Mothers, Legion Of Mary and the New Prague Sacred Heart societies. The Christian Mothers society attended the funeral services in a body.

Attending the funeral from out of town were Sister M. Menna, O.S.F. and Sister M. Agnesta O.S.F., from Racine, Wis., Rev. Stanley Skluzacek of Olivia, Mrs. Mary Sirek and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sirek from Rice Lake, Wis., and many relatives and friends from Olivia, Redwood Falls, Jordan, New Prague, Lonsdale, and the surrounding communities.
