Henry Harrison Hufford moved to Hendricks County, Indiana when he was three years old. He grew up on his parents' farm and was educated in the common schools. On April 3, 1879, he was married Flora A. MENDENDALL, daughter of Asa MENDENHALL and Katharine ETHNER. His wife was born in Iowa, in 1860, and came with her parents to Indiana in 1868. Three children were born to their marriage: Raymond H., Gertrude and Maud C. He farmed in Hendricks County, was elected Liberty Township Trustee in 1894, and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of both the Masons and the Odd Fellows. He supported the Republican Party in politics.
