Chesley Ottis "Ches" Wilson was born in Dawson, Navarro County, TX, child of The Reverend Wm. Martin Wilson and Katie Lee Hardy. A man of great humor, he joked that he was the middle child of nine and didn't stand a chance; the older ones picked on him and the younger ones told on him. He married Thelma "Peggy" Keys in 1932 in Freestone Co. He was a carpenter, builder, and cabinet-maker. They lived in Houston, Irving and Pasadena, returning to Teague in the late 1970s. He was a Deacon in the Baptist Church. They were members of Westfall Baptist Church in Pasadena and Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. Survived by his wife and their children Helen Janelle Wilson Christy Dearing of Houston and Larry Michael Wilson of Beckville, by grandchildren John Alan, James David, and Cynthia Joanne Christy and Michael Allen and Marc Alex Wilson, and by great-grandchildren Alyssa Shannon, John Alan, and Catherine Elizabeth Christy, and sister Oleta Mayes. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Tommie, Walter "Dick", and Paul, and sisters Ela Gibson, Myrtle West, Lois Penland and Leota Wilson.
