Kenneth was born July 31, 1945 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Charles E. Arnett, Sr. and Mable Curry Arnett. He was a 1963 graduate of Glynn Academy. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He worked for Georgia pacific for 32 years, retiring as the Bleach Plant Superintendent. He was currently employed by the Glynn County School Board as a bus driver.
Kenneth was a dedicated member of Glyndale Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a member of the "Wise Guys" Sunday School Class. He loved to fish and enjoyed sending time with his family at Lake Sinclair. The love of his life was his five precious grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joy McLain Arnett, his three children, Ken Arnett, Jr. (Dana), Kristy Arnett Flowers (Doug) and Kelly Arnett Herrin (Jeremy), five grandchildren, Brooke, Brenna, and Braylee Flowers, Gracie Herrin, and Abigail Arnett, all of Brunswick. He is also survived by a brother, Charles E. Arnett, Jr. (Elaine) also of Brunswick. Kenneth will be missed by his brother and sister-in-laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 O'Clock Saturday 7/9/11 in the Glyndale Baptist Church with interment to follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ken Creekmore will be officiating.
Active pallbearers will be: Chuck Arnett, Melvin Barnett, Bill McLain, Pete McLain, Price McLain, and Jimmy Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be: Koch Cellulose Bleach Plants employees and retirees of Georgia pacific, Glyndale Baptist Deacons and Wise Guy Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends in the Edo miller and Sons Funeral Home from 6 to 8:30 pm, Friday 7/8/11, and the family request Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice, 564 Scranton Road, Unit 103, Brunswick, Georgia, 31525 or the Building Fund of the Glyndale Baptist Church, Brunswick, Ga., 31525.
