Adrian was a lifelong farmer in the Pilot Grove-St. Paul area and member of the St. James Church in St. Paul. He was a loving husband and father who was devoted to his church, his family and his friends. He raised cattle and grain crops on the farm that has been in the Foecke name for over 150 years. He was active in Farm Bureau and in the Knights of Columbus serving leadership roles in both. Adrian loved to play euchre with friends and family, to fish, and to travel and sight-see. He enjoyed Sunday afternoon car drives to visit relatives and friends or to just look at the crops. He often combined his travels with family visits and fishing trips in Minnesota with friends. He will be remembered for his passion to care for his family, his land, and his livestock.
He is survived by his six children—Jim Foecke (wife Jeanne) of Pilot Grove, Suzanne Mehmert (husband Larry) of Cresco, IA, Gene Foecke (wife Nancy) of Donnellson, IA, Mari Lu Smith (husband Dave) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Bernie Foecke (wife Deb) of West Point, IA, and Joe Foecke (wife Jan) of Kansas City, MO, 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law--Celeste Freitag, Sister Lucille Winnike and Jeanice (Max) Clevenger and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Winnie, his parents, and his sister and brother-in-law Ceal and Louis Fraise.
Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery.
