Mr. Johnny Ray Adams, Jr., age 45 of Baxley, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 from a drowning accident in the Altamaha River. He was a native of Savannah, living in Lakeland, Florida for fifteen years, and moved to Baxley in 2010. He was employed with Lord Builders as a carpenter, attended the Snow Hill Community Church near Glenwood, and in the past several years enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Lou Miller Adams.

Mr. Adams is survived by three children, Kimberly Adams of Lyons, Johnny Ray Adams, III and Amy of Higgston, and Aaron Thomas Adams of Lyons; his father, Johnny Ray Adams, Sr. of Baxley; three sisters, Sharon A. Soto and Jaime of Glenwood, Wanda A. Herrington of Irwinton, and Tammy Adams and Manuel of Lakeland; five grandchildren, Sierra, Christyn, Anastasia, Johnny, and Chad, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 8th at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend W.R. Connell and Reverend John Young, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 until 12:00.
