☆~ VETERAN, KOREAN WAR (1950-1953) ~☆

Charles H. "Chuck" Cox, 74, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at his home. Chuck was born January 30, 1936 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to William H. and Charlotte (Spencer) Cox.

Chuck served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Following his discharge he married Jane Barger on June 23, 1957 in Alliance, Nebraska.

Chuck worked as an Engineer for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and retired in 1997. He was a member of the Eagles Club #136 where he was also the Secretary. He was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W., and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He enjoyed fishing and golfing.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Jane Cox of Alliance; his children, Casey (Rhonda) Cox of Alliance and Tami (Bryan) Swearingen of Lisbon, Iowa. He is also survived by his brothers, Don Spencer of Winston, Oregon, Bill Cox of Rapid City, South Dakota, William Broderick of Longmont, Colorado, Frank (Lupe) Cox of Alliance, and Michael (Leta) Cox of Alliance; sisters, Roseanne (Eugene) Westendorf of Platte, South Dakota, Cathy (Art) Thomsen of Alliance, Beverly (Mick) Meszaros of Longmont, Colorado, and Patricia (Butch) Kiger of Sutherland, Nebraska; grandchildren, Dan (Jean) Sherlock of Oxford, Iowa and Courtney Cox of Alliance; and his great grandchildren, Caitlyn Sherlock, Casey Sherlock, and Jaymie Sherlock, all of Oxford, Iowa.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents William and Charlotte Cox, step-mother Murna Cox, and sister, Virginia Adkins.

Burial with military rites was in the Alliance Cemetery, Alliance, NE.
