JEAN HUNTER, 93

Jean Hunter, 93, who had been a resident of 115 E. North St., Greensburg since 1954, died at 7 a.m. today, May 4, 1989, in the Heritage House Nursing Home, Greensburg, where she had been a patient for a year.

She was born Oct. 3, 1895, in Carthage, Ind., the daughter of Dr. W.J. and Ella Hill Porter. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg, the Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa and the Retired Public Employees. She served as a secretary to the principal at the West School for 20 years.

She was married to Scott E. Buell June 23, 1923 in Connersville, Ind., and he preceded her in death in May of 1934. On Feb. 21, 1954, she married Herbert Hunter in Greensburg and he preceded her in death Aug. 16, 1976.

She is survived by a daughter, Saralie Buell Payne, Greensburg; a son, Scott W. Buell, Greensburg; two stepsons, William H. and Oliver M. Hunter, both of Greensburg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a half sister, Mrs. Howard (Lois) Wynegar.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, with the Rev. F. William Clemenson officiating.

Burial will be in the Dale Cemetery in Connersville, Ind.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The family suggests that memorials go to the Building Fund of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg.
