She was born Aug. 13, 1937, a Friday the 13th, in Clarion to the late Lewis L. and Dorothea (Reid) Seigworth.
She attended Clarion Area Schools for grade school until seventh grade. She then attended and graduated from Clarion-Limestone High School in 1955. She started working at Clarion State Teachers College until 1959. She retired from CVS in 1999 after 27 years.
On May 18, 1957, she married Charles J. Aaron, who survives. Together, they celebrated 61 years of marriage, built a happy life together, and raised two sons.
In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by her sons, David Aaron (Therese), and Steven Aaron, both of Shippenville; three grandchildren, Maggie (Justin) Greely, Matthew (Christine) Aaron, and Benjamin Aaron.
In addition, she is survived by her brother, Ed Seigworth (Marge) of Minnesota, along with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Alex A. Aaron; three sisters, Eleanor, Velma, and Juanita; and a brother-in-law, Harold "Bill" McKinney.
Phyllis was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion for over 50 years. She sang in the church choir for all 50 years. She coordinated funeral dinners for many years, the Lenten luncheons, and helped with Food for Friends. She also helped with printing and folding Sunday bulletins and getting them in order.
Phyllis was a member of the American Legion Post 66 Auxiliary in Clarion and a life member of Weight Watchers.
Phyllis was also a founding member of the Clarion Community Choir and sang with that ensemble for more than 40 years. She enjoyed traveling and deer hunting with Chuck and her sons and grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Clarion-Forest Visiting Nurse Association, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion 16214 (http://www.cfvna.org); or the First Presbyterian Church of Clarion, 700 Wood St. Clarion 16214.
Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
An additional visitation will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 700 Wood Street in Clarion.
Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Scanlon, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
