Rita L. Parmelee, 74, she died on Dec. 15, 2007, at Central Wyoming Hospice .

She was born on July 12, 1933, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Theodore and Ruby E. (Oates) Ryerson. She grew up and attended school there, graduating from Bakersfield College with honors.

She married Kenneth Parmelee on July 21, 1950. They had five children.

She loved to work with children and was employed at Greenacres School as a teacher aid, librarian and resource person. At retirement she moved to Casper in 1992.

She loved to volunteer, working as a reading tutor at elementary schools and docent at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center. She was employed at Casper YMCA as the prenatal water aerobics instructor for nine years. She was also the Treasurer for Bethel Baptist Church for nine years and helped her daughter, Paula, at her tax business.

She is survived by her children, Michael Parmelee and wife of Bakersfield, Calif., Steve Parmelee and wife of Norco, Calif., Paula Stewart and husband of Bar Nunn, Rebecca Kucharski and husband of Bakersfield, Calif., and Ruth Spurgeon and husband of Visalia, Calif., 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brother, Robert Ryerson, half-brother,
