Alice C. Herbold, 78, formerly of Allentown, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall Township. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ellen (Beahm) Houser. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Allentown. She was employed by the former Champion Spark Plug Co., (Hellertown Manufacturing) as a plug maker for 37 years until the plant closed in 1982. She was also employed by Rodale for two years before retiring in 1989. Survivors: Son, James W. Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Allentown; daughter, Susan E. Hartman and her husband, Terry, of Emmaus; sisters, Catherine Hulock and Edna Tress; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton streets, Allentown. Call 7-8:30 p.mm. in the funeral home. Interment, Bethlehem Memorial Park. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, Alzheimers Association, 617A Main Street, Hellertown 18055.
