Charles William Hendricks, 78, 1693 S. Third Ave, Kankakee, IL, died
at Riverside Hospital on Wednesday, following an illness of several
months.
Born May 5, 1888, In Mansfield, IL, Mr. Hendricks was a carpenter most of his life. He retired five years ago, and the past three years was associated with Kankakee Mobile Homes and Trailer Sales. He had lived in Kankakee the past 28 years, and was a member of Carpenters Local 496.
Mr. Hendricks was married to the former Iona Williams, January 1, 1914, in Mahomet, IL. She died in May, 1966.
The funeral will be at 1;30 pm Friday at the Phillips, Friday and Schreffler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening and until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Surviving are daughters Violet Coy, Chebanse; Velma Bacon, Kankakee; and Clara Kroll, Chebanse; and a brother, Cecil Hendricks, Clawson, MI, and nine grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Note: Mr. Hendricks' funeral did not take place as planned. The record-setting blizzard of January, 1967, made such events impossible. A graveside service was held some 2 weeks later.
