Omer served in World War II stationed in England as a B-17 Pilot. He was awarded the rank of 1st Lieut. in the U.S. Army Air Force, where he received the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He retired from Citizens/Commerce Bank in 1982 after 44 years. He was a Deacon and an Elder of the South National/East Sunshine Church of Christ in Springfield, MO.

He was a devoted family man. He was married to his wife, Patty, from August 2, 1943 until his death, with whom he fathered 2 sons who gave him 3 grandchildren, one of whom is the sponsor of this site. He was also the great-grandfather of 5 before his death. There have been two more born since his passing. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family!

Cause of Death: Bone Cancer and Parkinson's Disease
