Evelyn M. (née Danna) Caldarola, 83, of Dennisport, died May 24, 2011 at the Oak Hill Hospital in Brooksville, FL. She was the wife of Auro N. Caldarola for 62 years. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Mrs. Caldarola was the daughter of the late Amadee and Mary (née Toscano) Danna.
Mrs. Caldarola had a successful career as a medical assistant in New Jersey and Massachusetts. After her retirement in 1981, she moved to Dennisport and volunteered at the Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center in South Dennis and for the Lions Club. She was a winter resident of Florida, where she volunteered as a teacher's aide for the Hernando County public school system. She was also a volunteer for the Hadassah organization.
A past president of the Cape Cod Chapter of the Lioness Club, Mrs. Caldarola was the 2011 recipient of Hadassah's Leadership Award.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Caldarola is survived by four children; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and one sister.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday June 3 in Saint Pius Tenth Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth.
Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
