HOUSTON -- Ila Stacie Tucker Holstein Lewis entered into eternal life on Friday, March 14, 2003 in Houston, Texas.
She was born in Blum, Texas to Mabel Clair and James Thomas Tucker. She graduated from high school in Blum, attended the University of Texas in Austin and received her teaching certificate from the University of North Texas. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mark McKinley Holstein and Dr. James Fitzgerald Lewis, her sister Vera Watson, her brother, Hyder Lydell Tucker and by her son-in-law, Gentry Lee Floyd.
She is survived by her family who loved her dearly and who will miss her so much. Her daughter, Virginia Holstein Floyd, her son, William Charles Holstein, her sister, Luella Jackson Abt, her grandchildren, Mark Andrew Holstein and wife Dori, Lauri Floyd Lafitte, Christy Floyd Wade and husband Bill, Nancilu Floyd Cranford and husband Jeff, her great grandchildren, Lyndsey Lafitte, Kyle and McKinley Wade, Abigail and Madeline Cranford, her beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Stacie, "Oma," enriched the lives of her family and friends through her wit, intelligence, love, positive approach to each day and ability to keep the happenings of this life in perspective. Her family is grateful to her for the lessons taught and for providing three generations of "Tucker" women a road map for a long, fulfilling and graceful life. Our lives have all been enriched by having known and loved her.
Services are set for 10 a.m. today, March 18, 2003, in the funeral home chapel.
Commitment will follow in the Blum Cemetery in Blum, Texas.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 1300 Westhill, Cleburne, Texas 76033.
