D.L. "Cogie" Johnson, 84, of Texas City, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2003, at Gamble's Personal Touch Care Home in Texas City. Cogie was born February 6, 1919, in Galveston to Fred and Bessie Johnson. Cogie was a lifetime resident of La Marque and served on the La Marque City Council.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict and was a member of the VFW Post 8248 of La Marque.

He is survived by twin sister, Dorothy Cox of Pasadena.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, from 5 p.m.
until 8 p.m. at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial to follow service at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
