Lt. Col. George Arthur Fox, USAF (Ret'd), passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on September 15, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to L.A. Fox and Alice Rhea Fox. He joined the Army Air Corp during World War II, and proudly served his country as a Pilot for 28 years. During his military career he earned the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 1 Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, Airmen's Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Fox graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, where he was President of Kappa Pi Sigma Fraternity.

George is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Natalie O'Tyson Fox; daughters, Sandra L. Fox, Cynthia A. Wasaff & husband, Michael, Natalie K. Fox & husband, Mark Wolf, Penelope J. Everett & husband, Fred; sister, Mary Alice Edwards & husband, Bryan; grandchildren, Kyle & Kirk Loney and Sarah & Samantha Wasaff; great grandchildren, Chase, Cali & Michael; nephews, Clinton & Derek Edwards.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will begin on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Air Force Honors.
