GULFPORT --- L.C. "Buck" Boyd, 81, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, in Gulfport. Mr. Boyd was a native of Columbia where he graduated from high school and was a longtime resident of the Gulf Coast. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, receiving the Bronze Star, with over 20 years of service. He was a Mason and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Cook Boyd; a son, Wayne Larue Boyd, both of Gulfport; a daughter, Linda Roberts of Titus, Ala.; and two sisters, Itaska Wood of Vero Beach, Fla., and Edna Earl Stringer of Columbia. A service will be at 12:30 p.m. today at Riemann Funeral Home Chapel, 25th Avenue, Gulfport. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors.
