May 15, 1950 to April 3, 2011
Judy Ellen (Atchison) Campbell of St. James, Missouri passed away at her home with her family by her side on April 3 2011 at 9:10 am. Judy was 60 years, 10 months and 19 days of age.
Judy was born to William and Ruby Atchison on May 15, 1950 at their home in St. James, Mo. where she lived until she met and married Dale E. Campbell of Newburg, Mo.
Dale and Judy were joined in Holy Matrimony on March 2, 1968 and to this blissful union four beautiful daughters were born: Laura Frayer, Tamara Copeland, Christy Maus, and Amy Mathis.
The couple traveled the world with the Air Force for twenty years. They experienced all life had to offer in wonderful places like Spain, Germany, Okinawa, California, Louisiana, North Dakota and visited most of the United States. During their travels Judy painted everywhere she could. She had paintings and murals in Europe and the Far East.
After retiring they settled back here in St. James where she continued to paint her way thru the days. She has graced many peoples homes and businesses with her works of art. Some of her work can be seen everyday at PCRMC Pediatric Ward, the ER waiting room, Matt's Steakhouse, Douglas Co. Restaurant or known as the Mexican Place, Bourbon City, outdoor murals on the pharmacy Bldg, Doolittle Firestation, St. James Christian Church, Moreland Bldg. (Danny's old office) and many others. She also enjoyed writing and sculpting. Many of her sculptures have stories that all weave together with her "Thornwood Hollow" studio. While a self taught artist and writer she raised her family and taught each of them how to be honest, patient, kind and generous. Every person has a story to be told and to listen patiently to it, love them and do what you can to help make the world a better place.
She is dearly missed by all she touched. Dear Mother Ruby E. Atchison., Laura and Leon Frayer: Morgan, Savanah, Ariana, Valerie, and Elysia; Tamara and Dan Copeland: Makayla; Christy and Cory Maus: Stephanie and Paxton; foster children: Heaven and Stormy; foster grandchildren: Illiana and Tristan; Amy and Chad Mathis: Logan, Samantha, and Ella: Dale Campbell; Buddy and Delilah (boxers).
