Amelia came to America, 1883, aboard the ship Elbe with her three children, Hilda, Paul and Herman. Nine other children were born in America. They settled in North Muskegon in 1883 and in 1888 they moved to Dalton Twp.

Born in Ruden, Kris Schubin, Germany (now Poland),

she died at the family home after an illness of seven days.

Amelia was a member of the German Lutheran church of Muskegon Twp. and a member of the Ladies Aid society of said church.
