MARY WHITEHURST RITES TUESDAY
Mary F. Whitehurst, 83, of Callao died early Sunday morning at the Samaritan Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Bevier with the Rev. Floyd Beasley officiating. Burial will be in East Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Whitehurst was born December 11, 1890 in Bevier, the daughter of John and Catherine Schonk Grable. She married Henry Smith October 20, 1909 at New Cambria, who died in 1933. She then married Noah E. Whitehurst October 30, 1959 in Macon county, Missouri, who died in 1962. She lived in Macon and Chariton Counties most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bevier, where she sang in the church choir and attended Sunday School and church regularly as long as she was able.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Harriett Jones of Bevier, Mrs. Golda Perrin of Macon and Mrs. Evelyn Biegel of Callao; four sons, Everett Smith of Bevier, Grover and Lester Smith both of Arvada, Colorado and Roland Smith of Macon; 50 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, two sons and three grandchildren.
Visitation began at 3 p.m. today at the Bram-Edwards Funeral Home in Bevier.
