Obituary: Avon - Dan Irons, 94, of Canton Route 5, died today a 6:55 a.m. in the Bell-Wood Nursing Home at Peoria, where he was a patient three weeks. He had been ill two weeks. He was born Oct. 27, 1866, in Fulton County and spent most of his life in Fulton and McDonough counties. His occupations were carpenter and farmer. Mr. Irons was married Jan. 29, 1891, in Galesburg, to Maude Marvel. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Funeral rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Brand Funeral Home, Avon, where friends may call Wednesday after 6 p.m. Burial will be at the Coal Creek Cemetery. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Vern Copeland, Avon; a son Willis of near Canton; a sister Daisy Marvel, Peoria; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, two sons, two sisters and eight brothers.
