Crystal T. Barela passed away at the Hospice Care Center surrounded by her family on Monday, December 7, 2009. Crystal was born in Mosca, Colorado on February 20, 1936 to Alfred and Blanche Haskell Warren. She spent her childhood in the Olathe area graduating from Olathe High School. She married Elefar Barela Jr. on December 18, 1955, in Aztec, New Mexico. He preceded her in death February 6, 2009. They will spend there 55th wedding anniversary together in heaven the 18th of this month. Crystal was a loving wife and mother she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and dancing with Elefar, she also enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW Woman's Auxiliary. Crystal leaves behind one son, Ralph of Grand Junction, Colorado; daughters, Janet Barela of Grand Junction, Colorado; Linda (Wayne) Bunch of Naturita, Colorado, and Barbara (Steve) Bercume of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Ed Warren of Commerce City, Texas; sisters, Elsie Flora of Nucla, Colorado; Della Relaford of Omak, Washington and June Rubalcaba of Delta, Colorado, 17 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers. A celebration of Crystal's life will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Martin Mortuary Chapel. She will be laid to rest at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado with her husband Elefar at a later date.
