MO d/c 41121 and funeral home pamphlet gives 1884 as birth year, a knowing source says 1883?? Also the headstone and funeral home pamphlet have day of birth as the 4th, d/c has the 14th.

DEE WALTERS FOUND DEAD

Edina Lady Living Alone Believed to Have Had a Heart Attack Some Time Before Discovery.

Miss Dee Walters, 65 years old, who lived alone, was found dead about 10:30 o'clock Monday night at her home in the southeast part of town, the home originally built by Hillary Tucker. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and had made known her intention of attending pre-Christmas services there Monday evening. So when she did not go Norman Shalley and Guy Lang went to her home to ascertain why. They found her lying in her bed, death evidently having come from a heart attack some time Sunday night or Monday. She was clasping a hot water bottle and indications were she had taken some medicine, evidently seeking relief.

Funeral services, pending the arrival of a brother, William Walters, of Vallejo, Calif., will be at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home and at 2:30 at the Assembly of God Church, conducted by the Rev. J. Dan Moore, pastor. Burial will be in Linville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Beal, Mr. Lang and Mr. Shalley, Lewis Arment, Pearl Lewis and A. C. Patterson.

Besides the brother mentioned, there survive two other brothers and a sister, Owen, "Bud," Walters of Baraboo, Wisc., Sam Walters of Ponca City, Okla., and Bessie, Mrs. Tom Tully of Ottumwa, la.

Miss Carrie Dee Walters, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Walters, was born Mar. 14 [sic], 1881, southeast of Edina. She attended school here and has lived in town the last fifty years. After coming to Edina she worked in both the Democrat and The Sentinel printing offices as a typesetter, and for a while later in Kirksville. Her father was the oldest man in Edina when he died in May, 1943. Mrs. Walters died a year or so afterward.
