WAYNE W. SIKKEMA, 95, of Fulton, IL, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, IA.
Wayne was born November 8, 1915, in Fulton, IL, to Jacob "Sly" and Anna (Bos) Sikkema. He was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1934 graduate of Erie High School.
He married Edna B. Huizenga on April 5, 1941, in Lyons, IA. Wayne was employed at the Curtis Company in Clinton, IA, and General Electric in Morrison, IL. He later was a union carpenter, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Second Reformed Church where he served as an elder and a deacon and participated in the choir and Men's Brotherhood. He was also a member of the local Carpenters Union. Wayne enjoyed sports and was an avid Cubs Fan.
Survivors include his wife, Edna; one daughter, Carol (Marv) Norman of Noblesville, IN; one son, Gary (Cheryl) Sikkema of Fulton, IL; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents,one brother, Lauren G. Sikkema; and two grandchildren.
