Richard Abbot, 84, a longtime resident of Onondaga Hill area of Syracuse; then Newfield, NY, with his cousin, Donna Cooper; and most recently of Glen House Eldercare, Moravia, NY, died Wed., June 29, 2011, after years of a long illness at the Howd Nursing Home, Moravia where he had been a patient since 2010. Richard was born Feb. 19, 1927, in Syracuse, the son of Ross and Ethelyn Jackson Abbott. He was a gentle soul who loved nature and being in the woods. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Lenceiki, in 2004 and is survived by several cousins. At the family request there are no services. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse. The Wade Funeral Home, Moravia was entrusted with the arrangements.
